Metro Vancouver Interim Draft Liquid Waste Management Plan
UDI Lower Mainland submission to Metro Vancouver.
As part of Metro Vancouver's engagement on its Interim Draft Liquid Waste Management Plan, UDI Lower Mainland provided feedback which outlined concerns that costs to new housing and employment projects will increase as a result of actions in the Plan. Relying on purchasers and renters to fund more liquid waste infrastructure is problematic, especially when many redevelopment projects in urban areas do not result in additional rainwater being added to the sewer system. UDI also shared concerns that senior governments are driving some of the rising costs for liquid waste management for Metro Vancouver and local governments - which as a result should come with additional funding for those rising standards.
