Special categories are not open for submission. the winners will be chosen by a separate jury panel.
Inductees
2022:Â
- Peeter Wesik is the Chair of Wesgroup Properties, a family real estate company, started over 50 years ago, with a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential real estate located mainly in Greater Vancouver. Peeter is also Chair of Wesgroup Equipment, a subsidiary of Wesgroup Properties, which is a fullâservice construction equipment and material handling distributor operating in 7 dealer locations throughout the Province of
British Columbia. Peeter previously practiced law before becoming a full time business person and is a director of the Royal BC Museum.
2018:Â
- David Podmore of Concert Properties is honoured for his lifelong contribution to our industry and the community in which we live. For over 40 years, he has been recognized as one of Vancouverâs most influential contributors to the real estate industry.
David Podmoreâs immense contributions to the community include his involvement with the BC Childrenâs Hospital Foundation as immediate past-chair, successfully bringing the Winter Olympics to Vancouver in 2010, and Concert Propertiesâ sponsorship of bursaries to help students in the BCIT Trades Discovery programs. In total, the company has endowed over $2.6 million to BCIT, and contributed over $3.3 million to trades training programs across Canada overall.
2016:Â
- Nat Bosa, Bosa Development
2014:Â
- Keith Beedie, Beedie Development Group
- Joseph Segal, Kingswood Capital Corporation
- Milan Ilich, Progressive Group of Companies
- Robert H. Lee, Prospero International Realty
2012:Â
- Michael Audain, whose contributions to British Columbia and Canada as a philanthropist, patron of the arts, and advocate for social justice have been well documented. The founder and chairman of Polygon Homes, Audainâs commitment to excellence in the development industry has resulted in high standards for members of the Urban Development Institute, where he served as a director for many years and as president 1985-86. Michael Audain is one of our most outstanding British Columbians, committed to the economic and social wellbeing of the province.
- Victor Lewis, one of the founding fathers of UDI, was president of British American Construction Materials and then Genstar Development, and spearheaded some of the largest real estate development projects across Canada. A visionary whose passion for the development industry lasted a lifetime, he left a legacy of professionalism and the creation of sustainable cities. Victor passed away in February of this year at the age of 92.
- Jack Poole, co- founder of Daon Developments and Concert Properties, led Vancouver to the unqualified success of Vancouverâs 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games â and, regretfully, passed away shortly before the Games began, at the age of 76. As one newspaper put it: Jack Poole was a great Canadian, a great Westerner, a great Builder and great Human Being. And a worthy inaugural member of UDIâs Hall of Fame.
UDI fosters the effective exchange of information between industry stakeholders.
