City of Abbotsford - Tree Management Bylaw

As mentioned in previous updates, on January 13th Council gave final adoption to the proposed Tree Management Bylaw.

December 22, 2025

At their meeting on December 9th, Council gave three readings to the proposed Tree Management Bylaw and endorsed the Tree Management Bylaw Implementation Plan in order to update the bylaw to align with the City鈥檚 Urban Forest Strategy鈥檚 Goals. 聽

聽New fees and securities include: 聽

路 the introduction of an application fee; 聽

路 a field re-inspection fee; and 聽

路 a tree protection security deposit for retained trees on development sites聽

Revised fees and securities include: 聽

路 updates to the cash in lieu amount for replacement trees; and 聽

路 updates to the security deposit for replacement trees.聽
