At their regular meeting on November 5th, Council received the 2024 Interim Housing Needs Report (IHNR) for information and directed staff to publish the report on the City’s website. This interim report updates the housing needs of the City of Abbotsford in accordance with provincial legislation under Bill 44 – Housing Statutes Act. According to the IHNR, the total number of new units required to meet the City’s 5-year need is 11,066 while the 20-year housing need is 37,185.
