UDI Lower Mainland submission to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food & the Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs regarding industry challenges related to soil management throughout the Province.

UDI received a meeting request from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, for a roundtable with other industry stakeholders to discuss the growing problem of illegal dumping of construction waste on farmland in the Agricultural Land Reserve. This letter outlines key challenges faced by the industry in relation to soil management, including a lack of legal and reliable clean fill and mixed composition soil relocation sites, and the need to streamline multi-jurisdictional approvals related to landing of import materials. UDI provided potential solutions for the Province to explore, and looks forward to future engagement and collaboration to address these challenges.
