At their meeting on November 18th, Council gave three readings to the voluntary metering bylaw updates to support the implementation of a multi-year Voluntary Water Metering Program. Staff have proposed a variety of changes to the Waterworks Regulation Bylaw, Sewerworks Regulation Bylaw, and the Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw, as amended. The proposed changes will enable the Township to administer a Voluntary Water Metering Program for residential properties. The program will include meters installed and paid for by the Township, triannual billing, a revised volumetric rate structure with a fixed fee, and a requirement for all new residential construction obtaining final completion in 2026 and beyond to be enrolled in metered utility billing. At the same time, staff are also proposing updates to the Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw for bollard design on pedestrian walkways and community detention pond design criteria. Β
