Adopted

July 13th, 2026

At their meeting on June 29th, Council gave three readings and final adoption to the proposed amendments to the Residential Compact Lot Zone R-CL(SD) to permit a form of small-scale multi-unit housing (SSMUH) development. The proposed amendments to the R-CL(SD) Zone would provide all 470 R-CL(SD) zoned lots with the opportunity to consider development with three dwelling units per lot (the principal unit plus a secondary suite and an accessory dwelling unit) for lots that are 280 m2 or smaller, and four units (the principal unit plus a secondary suite and two accessory dwelling unit) for lots that are larger than 280 m2 . Based on analysis, 50 of the 470 R-CL(SD) lots may be greater than 280 m2 , with lot areas up to about 375 m2 ; approximately half of these are not yet built out.
