At their meeting on January 27th, Council approved a motion to direct staff to report to Council with a preliminary review of options for Council to consider, informed by Metro Vancouver’s 2025 Regional Parking Strategy:  

1. potentially reducing mandatory minimum parking requirements for apartment housing forms within close proximity to Bus Rapid Transit service as outlined within Transport 2050; and 
2. the implementation of a modest cash-in-lieu provision for the reduction of mandatory minimum parking requirements to further support the recently established Cycling Infrastructure Improvements Fund.
