Township of Langley - Family-Friendly Units Policy Exemptions

At their Public Hearing on May 13th, Council gave third and final reading to exemptions to the Family Friendly Units Policy, reducing the two-bedroom, three-bedroom, and overall average project unit size requirements for purpose-built rental projects. The exemptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.Â

At their meeting on April 29th, Council gave first and second reading to exemptions to the Family Friendly Units Policy to incentivize the development of market and non-market housing. The Bylaw proposes the following:Â
- Reduced two-bedroom and three-bedroom requirements for purpose built rental housing projects.Â
- Reduced overall average project unit size for purpose built rental housing projects. Â Â
The proposed exemptions would be considered on a case by-case basis as deemed appropriate.Â
