Provincial - TransLink Development Cost Charge (DCC)
On December 4th, the TransLink Board will be presented with a proposed Bylaw #155-2024 (starting on page 78) to increase the transit agency’s DCC rates by 4.3% as of January 1, 2025. This is an inflationary increase, and is based on the 2023 inflation rate, “… and is consistent with what was proposed and included in TransLink’s 2024 Investment Plan, as approved by the Mayors’ Council on April 25, 2024.” The rates will be as follows:
In terms of grandfathering, “A one-year protection period will be provided for all in-stream applications as of December 4th, 2024 …”. TransLink has also provided a table for how it will work (see below).
