On January 1st, 2024, increased TransLink DCCs took effect for new applications. These rates were approved last fall and represent a 6.7% inflationary increase based on the average annual Vancouver CPI.

In-stream protections will be provided for applications that meet the following criteria:

• Any building permits issued or subdivision applications granted by December 31st, 2023 are at the existing charges.
• To avoid paying DCCs at the new charge starting January 1st, 2024:

• Building permit application or subdivision application must have been submitted before December 6th, 2023 (Bylaw Adoption); and
• The building permit must be issued, or the subdivision application granted within 12 months of the Adoption Date.
