BC Housing is hosting a webinar on the recent changes to Part 9 of BC Building Code provisions as outlined in the Illustrated Guide: Lateral Bracing Requirements - Part 9 of the BC Building Code. 

The changes introduce new lateral bracing methods to design for seismic loads and include updated climatic data that account for the effects of climate change, as well as specified wind and snow loads.    

The webinar will discuss:  

• The reasons behind the updates to Part 9 lateral bracing provisions   
• Modifications to lateral bracing requirements   
• Lateral bracing design considerations for a house subject to high wind and seismic forces using the Table Bracing Method and the Calculation Bracing Method
