Provincial - SSMUH Policy Manual

Update

The SSMUH Policy Manual has been updated to reflect Bill 25, Housing and Municipal Affairs Statutes Amendment Act, 2025, and to align with guidance on proactive planning, development finance tools, and transit-oriented areas. Β 

The Guide was updated to:Β 

  • Reflect 2025 legislative amendments to restricted zone (Bill 25);Β 
  • Include guidance on zoning amendments when bus frequencies change; Β 
  • Include information about site-level infrastructure and transportation demand management (TDM) authorities;Β 
  • Ensure consistent messaging with guidance on proactive planning, development finance tools, and transit-oriented areas;Β 
  • Include guidance on the implementation of standardized designs;Β 
  • Clarify the application of Building Code requirements to previously occupied buildings included in a strata plan;Β 
  • Include considerations of setbacks from utility lines; andΒ 
  • Remove Appendix B – List of Local Governments that may have prescribed bus stops.Β
