SFU has distributed the results informed by the Mass Timber Construction event in their new guide: Advancing Mass Timber: Risk mitigation and insurance strategies for a thriving sector. 

Based on extensive cross-sectoral industry engagement, the new guide outlines three actionable pathways to mitigate risk, strengthen insurer confidence and support the mass timber building industry.

What’s in the guide? 

Part 1 brings together quotes from industry members on the challenges and opportunities in mass timber insurance, alongside key themes and analysis. 

Part 2 identifies three key pathways for action shaped by industry perspectives: 

• A quality assurance program 
• Shared protocols and standards 
• Short, practical training programs
