Provincial - BC Housing Licensed Residential Builder Survey

BC Housing has released key insights from their 2025 Licensed Residential Builder Survey for Part 9 buildings in a summary report.  

Key highlights are as follows: 

  • 37% found no issues with building to the ESC; 32% found cost to be the largest challenge; 
  • 78% of respondents met Step 3 or higher of the BC Energy Step Code; 
  • Ongoing commitment to building homes under green building programs; 
  • One in five homebuilders across the province actively plan for a changing climate.
