On February 5th, District staff provided a report to Council as an update on the historical pace of development. It was noted that there are a number of policies that will guide future decisions on the pace of development. In particular, reference was made to the Housing Targets provided by the Minister of Housing in the fall, and the late 2023 legislation where municipalities must adopt new Housing Needs Reports, Official Community Plans, and update their Zoning Bylaws by December 31st, 2025. There is a Council Workshop scheduled for February 12th to discuss these issues further.

District staff will be publishing regular updates to the data on DNV.org starting in early February, which will include high level snapshots of progress towards achieving key OCP housing objectives, as well as in-depth housing and development data (to be updated about once a month) so the public has a transparent and accessible view of hte work being done to achieve housing objectives.
