At their regular meeting on October 21st, Council received the 2024 Interim Housing Needs Report (HNR) for information and directed staff to publish the report on the District’s website. This interim report updates the District’s housing needs in accordance with provincial legislation under Bill 44 – Housing Statutes Act. According to the HNR, the total number of units required to meet the District’s five-year demand is 7,425, while the 20-year housing need is 22,369.  The District will update its OCP and Zoning Bylaw by the end of 2025 to accommodate the 20 year housing need.
