City of Vancouver - Zoning and Development Bylaw Housekeeping Updates

On December 9, Council approved a report in principle on housekeeping amendments to the Zoning and Development Bylaw. Key updates include expanding the definition of social housing to include First Nations and First Nations corporations, aligning with recent Vancouver Charter amendments and enabling applicable development cost levy and amenity charge exemptions. The amendments also remove outdated height limits on rooftop access and amenity structures to better reflect current approval practices, support rooftop amenities, and reduce the need for variances.

More information can be found in the full report by City staff.
