The City of Vancouver recently updated its application submission requirements guide for CD-1 Rezonings to include a tower separation/block study submission item. This submission guide intends to demonstrate potential block redevelopment scenarios following policy, including tower separation requirements for existing or future neighboring redevelopments. An update will also be made to the City’s Enquiry submission requirements.  

It is anticipated that completion of this study will be required for most tower sites. Staff recognize that applicants are concerned about understanding the implications of Council policies relating to urban design and form of development. As such, the City plans to work with applicants to provide better feedback through this minor addition to the submission checklist.
