City of Vancouver - Industrial Modernization and Intensification Framework

Following a Public Hearing on December 12th, 2023, at Council on January 23rd,2024 proposed amendments to the Zoning and Development Bylaw related to the Cityβs Industrial Modernization and Intensification Framework were adopted. These changes amend the I-2 District Schedule and Section 2 Definitions of the Zoning and Development Bylaw to support the implementation of the Vancouver Plan and the Cityβs Employment Lands and Economy Review (ELER). Specifically, the amendments seek to:
- Improve flexibility and modernize permitted uses;
- Remove barriers and encourage the provision of artist studios (Class B to provide more opportunities for artists in industrial areas); and
- Align regulations, remove outdated clauses, and correct unintended errors.
