Since June 2022, work has been underway to add new housing, job space, and amenities that integrate with the Broadway Subway and meet the City’s needs. There are now three projects underway with an opportunity to provide feedback on Broadway Plan implementation:

There is a Broadway Plan implementation survey available to fill out until July 14th. Feedback from this survey will help refine these three aspects of Plan implementation before they are presented to City Council for consideration as part of a Plan review update in November 2024.

Open Houses:

  • Saturday June 15th: Vancouver City Hall (453 West 12th Avenue) in Helena Gutteridge Plaza (if raining, moves to Joe Wai Meeting Room) from 11am-2pm
  • Thursday June 20th (with a focus on City Hall Campus): Vancouver City Hall (453 West 12th Avenue) in the Joe Wai Meeting Room from 4:30pm-7:30pm
  • Wednesday June 26th: Kitsilano Neighbourhood House (2305 West 7th Avenue) from 4:30pm-7:30pm

The City is seeking feedback on an updated Groundwater Management Bulletin for the Broadway Plan Area.

Specific feedback being requested includes:

  • How higher densities in the Broadway Plan will impact implementation of the Bulletin;
  • With no vehicle parking minimums in Broadway Plan Area (except accessible and visitor parking), how much parking are UDI members anticipating providing;
  • What mitigation measures are UDI members considering for groundwater management;
  • How is the Groundwater Bulletin process working in other areas of the City. Are there ways the current process can be improved?

A draft of the latest Groundwater Management Bulletin can be reviewed here. For ease of reference, the proposed changes are on pages 5, 6, 11, and 20.

With the proposed changes, the existing webmap (link) would be updated with the Broadway Plan Area as a new area of concern. City staff have provided a simple map showing what that will look like.

If you have any questions or comments on the proposals, please contact the City by reaching out to Mike Simpson at mike.simpson@vancouver.ca.
