City of Surrey - Fleetwood Plan

Adopted

As noted in previous newsletters, updates to the Fleetwood Plan received First and Second Readings on October 16. On November 20, Council adopted the proposed changes to the existing Stage 1 Fleetwood Plan, which include amendments to Land Use, Transportation, as well as Parks and Open Space Concepts. Proposed changes include:

  • Revisions to land use designations;
  • Adjustments to the road and cycling networks;
  • Refinements to the location of parkland;
  • Relocation of Fire Hall 6;
  • Identification of potential future school sites; and
  • Introduction of a community amenity contribution for transit supportive amenities and infrastructure.
  • The proposed transit CAC is $1,750 per dwelling unit for residential developments (non-residential developments are excluded).

City staff will now begin to complete the Stage 2 planning components including utilities servicing studies, Traffic Impact Assessment, Rapid Transit Amenity Study, SkyTrain Urban Interface and Noise Desing Guidelines, Urban Design Guidelines, as well as a Parks, Recreation and Culture Amenity Study. The final Fleetwood Plan is anticipated for Council consideration in 2024.
