City of Surrey - Official Community Plan

The City of Surrey is starting a two-year process to update the Official Community Plan (OCP) and is looking for feedback. The plan is currently in Phase 2 and has a targeted completion date for the fall of 2025. 

The proposed OCP Timeline is as follows: 

1: Exploring (fall 2023 - winter 2024) 

  • (Official Community Plan has finished this stage) 
  • Launch project and build awareness.  

2: Visioning (spring - summer 2024) 

  • Official Community Plan is currently at this stage 
  • Explore vision, key challenges and opportunities. 

3: Developing (fall 2024) 

  • This is an upcoming stage for Official Community Plan 
  • Identify big moves. Refine vision and objectives. 

4: Refining (winter - spring 2025) 

  • This is an upcoming stage for Official Community Plan 
  • Refine policy content and develop final document. 

5: Completing (summer - fall 2025) 

  • This is an upcoming stage for Official Community Plan 
  • Finalize document and facilitate adoption process. 

Feedback for Phase 2 is being accepted through an online survey until July 31.

The City of Surrey is updating their Official Community Plan (OCP) over the next two years. The City has released a survey to provide input.

The new OCP will:

  • Provide a long-term vision for the City;
  • Establish clear objectives and actions to achieve the vision;
  • Identify housing needs and support a range of housing choices for all;
  • Foster a framework for complete, walkable neighborhoods;
  • Support the protection of key natural areas and sensitive ecosystems; and
  • Support other City and regional strategies focused on growth, climate change, and transportation.
