City of Surrey - Newton Master Plan Development
Approved
At their meeting on April 13th, Council approved the Newton Centre Master Development Plan that establishes a high-level framework for the coordinated development of City-owned and TransLink-owned lands, strategically located at King George Boulevard and 72 Avenue. It provides direction on implementation and investment for these publicly owned lands, guiding how the Surrey City Development Corporation (SCDC) can advance City owned land and attract private sector partners.
Conceptually, the Master Plan demonstrates the potential for:Β
β’ Approximately 2,200 residential units;Β
β’ Approximately 4,000 residents; andΒ
β’ Up to 150,000 square feet of retail and commercial space.
The SCDC will now advance development planning and approvals for Phase 1, including preparation of a General Development Permit application and engagement with the development industry to identify potential partners.
Additional information can be found in the Β full report by City staff.Β
