City of Surrey - Development Application Fee Reductions for Development Variance Permits

July 27th, 2026

At their regular meeting on July 13th, Council gave three readings to the proposed amendments to the Development Application Fee By-law. As noted in the report, introducing a dedicated $750 application fee for Minor Development Variance Permits and reducing the general Development Variance Permit fee from $2,039 to $1,500 will align the City’s fee schedule with the reduced review scope and staff effort associated with DVP applications (compared to other application types) and delegated Minor DVP applications, while maintaining appropriate cost recovery and supporting the streamlined approval framework established for delegated minor DVPs.Β
