At their meeting on February 24th, Council received the 2025 Surrey Housing Needs Report for information and authorized staff to use the updated report to inform planning processes. Using the Province’s HNR method, it is estimated that Surrey will need 53,111 new housing units in the next five years and 169,221 new housing units in the next 20 years for all residents to have homes that are appropriate and affordable.
