At their meeting on December 16th, Council received the 2024 Interim Housing Needs Report (IHNR) for information. This interim report updates the housing needs of the City of Surrey in accordance with provincial legislation under Bill 44 – Housing Statutes Act. According to the IHNR, the total number of new units required to meet the City’s 5-year need is 53,111 while the 20-year housing need is 169,221.
