City of Port Moody - TDM Requirements for New Developments

At the City Initiatives and Planning Committee on September 9, Council authorized staff to proceed with the implementation of points-based requirements for Transportation Demand Management (TDM) requirements for new developments. The proposed approach allows applicants to choose from 38 pre-approved options (active transportation, land use, parking transit) to meet point targets by integrating TDM measures into new developments.

The City noted an intention for the proposed requirements to formalize the current ad-hoc basis and provides more certainty to applicants upfront rather than adding additional requirements. The City is also providing an interactive workbook to guide applicants.

More information can be found in the full report by City staff.
