On November 12th, Council received a report for information on the updated Housing Needs Report to align with Provincial guidelines. The updated Housing Needs Report proposes the current and anticipated housing needs as follows: 

• 5 Years (2029) – 3,063 new units; and 
• 20 Years (2044) – 9,796 new units. 

During the meeting, a motion directed the City to approach Metro Vancouver regarding the opportunity for them to potentially acquire rentals that are affordable by age in Port Moody and facilitate access to the provincial Rental Protection Fund.
