City of Port Moody - DCC Inflationary Update

Adopted

As mentioned in previous updates, on January 14th, Council adopted an inflationary update to the current Development Cost Charge (DCC) rates. This will translate to a rate increase of 4.3% and be effective immediately.

For Multi-family, Institutional, Commercial and Industrial developments where DCCs are payable at the issuance of Building Permit, the DCC rates in the previous Bylaw may apply if a complete precursors application (one of building permit application, development permit application, rezoning application or subdivision application) leading to the building permit issuance was received before the adoption of the new Bylaw.

Council passed a motion arising to automatically update inflationary DCC updates annually, as permitted by the Province.

More information can be found in the full report by City staff.

December 3rd, 2024

On November 26th, Council gave three readings to an inflationary update to the current Development Cost Charge (DCC) rates. This will translate to a rate increase of 4.3% and be effective immediately following the approval of the Bylaw by the Inspector of Municipalities. Council also adopted the proposed 2025 Fees Bylaw, with some fees adjusted to reflect a 2-5% inflationary increase.

More information can be found in the DCC report, the 2025 Fees and Charges report, and the draft Bylaw.
