City of Port Coquitlam - Building and Plumbing Bylaw Amendments

Adopted

As mentioned in previous updates, on September 9th, Council adopted revisions to the Building and Plumbing Bylaw. The revisions intend to streamline development reviews by introducing efficiencies through technological changes or eliminating procedures now deemed redundant.

Instead of requiring staff to manually count fixtures in the plumbing fee calculation, applicants may now self-report the number of fixtures proposed, decreasing the processing time. Additionally, staff propose eliminating the now redundant requirement of verifying the insurance of registered professionals, as they already have valid liability insurance.
