City of Port Coquitlam - Adaptable Housing Update

Adopted

As mentioned in previous updates, on June 10th, Council adopted amendments reducing the percentage of adaptable units required for new multi-family buildings to the Provincially-required 20%. The City reduced its requirement from 30% to 20% to ensure alignment with the BC Building Code (BCBC) 2024, provide clarity for applicants, and reflect feedback from the development industry and consideration of broader economic pressures.
