June 6th, 2024Β

On May 21st, Council deferred the first, second and third readings of the Transit-Oriented Area (TOA) designation. This designation identifies the Mission City West Coast Express Station subject to development Tier 4 & 5 categories for minimum allowable density and height.Β

Council expressed concerns with the absence of parking requirements and inability to negotiate density bonusing in the designated Transit Oriented Area. As such, a motion to defer the readings until Council can engage in discussions with the Housing Ministry regarding their concerns with the legislation was unanimously approved. Β

More information can be found in the full report by City staff and in the Council meeting minutes (commencing at the 2:06:25 mark).Β
