City of Mission - Provincial Housing Legislation - Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing
Adopted
As mentioned in previous updates, on July 15th, Council defeated adoption of the proposed Zoning Bylaw amendments to align with Bill 44, Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing (SSMUH), Provincial mandates. However, at a Special Meeting of Council on July 17th, Council reconsidered the motion and adopted the proposed SSMUH Zoning Bylaw amendments.Â

At their meeting on May 21st, Council approved for staff to submit an extension application to the provincial government to request an additional 90 days beyond the June 30th deadline to amend their bylaws in alignment with the Small-Scale Multi-Unit Housing legislation. The report outlines that the request for an additional 90-day extension will provide the necessary time to navigate the process effectively and ensure full compliance with the SSMUH legislation.Â
