City of Mission - Development Liaison Committee Recommendation on Zero Carbon Step Code

At their meeting on July 21st, Council approved the recommendation that the City of Mission remain β€˜status quo’ in terms of the British Columbia Building Code and allow the Province to initiate changes when it comes to enacting the Zero Carbon Step Code. Both the Environmental Charter Advisory Committee and the Development Liaison Committee have weighed in on the issue of early adoption of the Zero Carbon Step Code and have asked Council to provide direction. Based on the balance of information, the recommendation to Council is to remain status quo at this time and allow the Province to lead the changes to the BC Building Code in relation to Step Code.Β
