City of Maple Ridge - Transit-Oriented Areas: Land Use Planning Process Update

At their meeting on May 27th, Council received a report for information that presents initial land use concepts for the three Transit-Oriented Areas in Maple Ridge (i.e., the Haney Transit Exchange, Port Haney, and Maple Meadows).Β

Next StepsΒ

The next step in the Transit-Oriented Area Land Use Planning Process is to share the initial land use concepts, incorporating any Council feedback, to the public at an upcoming Open House. The Open House is anticipated to be scheduled in early June and will be advertised on the City’s website, through social media platforms, and in the local newspaper.Β

Following the public engagement, Official Community Plan Amending Bylaws will be prepared over the summer and presented to Council in the fall of 2025 for consideration. In accordance with provincial regulation, local governments, including the City, have until December 31, 2025 to update their Official Community Plans to align with the recent provincial legislation.Β

Additional information can be found in the Β full report by City staff.Β
