At their regular meeting on July 28th, Council directed staff to forward the completed Housing Target Progress Report to the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs, and that the report be published on the City’s website. Between July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026, a total of 554 net new residential units were completed in Maple Ridge. The results reflect that Maple Ridge has not met its Year Two target of 672 net new residential units. However, the cumulative total for the first two years of the Order comes to 1,272 of the 1,284 total required units, which is a shortfall of 12 units.

July 31st, 2025

At their regular meeting on July 29th, Council directed staff to forward the Housing Target Progress Report to the Provincial Government’s Housing Targets Branch in accordance with the Housing Supply Act. Between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025, a total of 781 units were completed and 30 were demolished. This results in 751 net new completed units in Year 1 of reporting. The Year 1 target is 612 net new units, meaning 122.7% of the target units were completed during Year 1.

February 18, 2025

At their meeting on February 11th, Council approved the Housing Target Progress Report and directed staff to submit the report to the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs. The report provides progress information relating to the City of Maple Ridge’s Housing Target Order, covering the period from July 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, as required under the Housing Supply Act.  

During the reporting period, the City granted occupancy to a total of 376 net new units. The report notes that the City is on track to meet its Year 1 target of 612 units, having completed 61% of the target in the first six months.
