At their meeting on June 30th, Council gave three readings to the proposed updates to the Building Bylaw. The updated Building Bylaw aligns with the Building Division’s current practices and procedures. The goals are to provide clarity on the provisions stated within the Bylaw, modernize the content to align with regulations which govern construction, add requirements that guide staff in consistent decision-making, include provisions to recover costs for the services provided by the City, and restructure the content so it is easy to follow.
