City of Langley - Tenant Relocation Policy - Implementation and Application Motion

As mentioned in previous updates, on January 13th, Council directed staff to continue to apply Tenant Relocation Policy CO-84 to all new development applications, not received by the City as of July 22, 2024 (date of adoption). ย

At their meeting on July 22nd, Council approved the proposed updates to the Tenant Relocation Plans Policy which includes updated tenant compensation and relocation requirements.ย ย 

The updated compensation levels, for non-vulnerable tenants, are as follows:ย 

Compensation for vulnerable tenants that may need to relocate to market housing have also been increased:ย 

All new applications are now subject to the updated tenant relocation plans policy (CO-84). In-stream applications will continue to adhere to the previous tenant relocation policy (CO-81).ย
