On November 6, Council adopted proposed streamlining changes to the Zoning Bylaw. Amendments include several key updates, including:

• Streamlining of development application processes by reducing the need for variance requests through:
  • Reduced RS2 rear yard setbacks;
  • Reduced 17 accessory structure setbacks; and
  • Removing visitor parking requirement for small townhouse developments;
• Expanding home occupation permissions; and
• Permitting childcare facility more broadly.

In addition to these changes, Council directed staff to look into and report on updates to the Subdivision Development Standards Bylaw to further streamline the development application process. For more information, see the full report.
