City of Coquitlam - Development Procedures Bylaw – Public Hearings

At Council on February 5th, Council approved proposed changes to the Development Procedures Bylaw to implement Bill 44 and the prohibition of Public Hearings on certain Zoning Bylaw amendments. The goal of this change is to eliminate Public Hearings for residential and mixed-use (at least 50% residential) developments that are compliant with the Official Community Plan. Public Hearings will no longer be required for:

  • Rezoning applications proposing residential and mixed-use (at least 50% residential) developments, consistent with the OCP; and
  • Zoning bylaw amendments to regulate SSMUH in accordance with the LGA.
