City of Coquitlam - 2025 Fees and Charges
Adopted
On December 9th, Council adopted proposed amendments to 2025 Fees and Charges. Most fees increased by an inflationary rate of 2.7%.Â
Other notable changes include:Â
General AdministrationÂ
- Properties included on a mortgage listing fee has increased by 9% per property; andÂ
- A new $90 fee is introduced for each subsequent review of a discharge.Â
Planning and DevelopmentÂ
- Targeted fees increasing higher than inflation and being restructured to better recover costs:Â
- Master Development Plan Rezoning;Â
- Non-Delegated Zoning Bylaw Amendment Third Reading Time Extension;Â
- Subsequent Subdivision Reapproval Application.Â
- Other adjustments:Â
- Introduction of Enquiry Meetings fees, Change of owner/agent fee, housing agreement fees, Master Development Plan, and increases to Financial Administrate fee;Â
- New, lower cost delegated variance permit fees following the May 2024 report on delegating minor approvals. Â
Building BylawÂ
- New building bylaw fees to better align with the cost of providing the service:Â
- Building Permit Extension fee - $300;Â
- Building Permit Re-issuance - 0.5% of total permit fee;Â
- Building Permit Amendment - 5% of total permit fee;Â
- Alternative solutions review fee (New) - $500; andÂ
- Alternative solutions review fee (Revision) - $350.Â
Engineering and Public WorksÂ
- This is the second year of phasing utility infrastructure development-related fees (such as temporary and permanent service capping, new water service, and water main shutdowns) ranging from 9.8% to 14.3% across Drainage, Sanitary, and Water Utility Services fees.Â
- Other fees have been adjusted for inflation or to better align with the cost of providing the services with increases ranging from 2.7% to 200% across the following:Â
- Drainage, Sanitary, and Water Utility Services fees;Â
- Transportation Infrastructure Services fees;Â
- Encroachments Service fees; andÂ
- Frontage Works Program Services fees.Â
