At their meeting on February 11th, Council approved the Housing Target Progress Report and directed staff to submit the report to the Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs. The report provides progress information relating to the City of Chilliwack’s Housing Target Order, covering the period from July 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024, as required under the Housing Supply Act.  

During the reporting period, the City granted occupancy to a total of 483 net new units. The report notes that the City is on track to meet its Year 1 target of 651 units, having completed 73% of the target in the first six months. The City has combined the development of net new units on First Nations land to their Year 1 Interim Progress Report.
