At the Transportation Committee on October 22, Council approved the Intelligent Transportation Systems Strategic Plan, addressing the integration of sensor technology, real-time data transmission, and analytics to enhance safety and optimize road network performance by reducing the impact of congestion. 

The implementation costs will be primarily funded through the Engineering financial capital plan subject to Development Cost Charges (DCC) and Capital Asset Works Financing Reserve Fund availability with potential collaboration with other City departments, including IT.
